My Artistic Approach
I'm a Tamahere abstract artist who works with fluid acrylics, pigments, and metallic elements, allowing the materials to move naturally over linen canvases. Inspired by nature’s textures—the intricate patterns of stone, wood, and water—my pieces evoke a sense of calm, grounding, and organic elegance.
Through Felice Paintworks, I hope to bring the beauty of earth-inspired art into homes, making original paintings accessible to everyone.
From Healing to Creating
I’m Minty, the artist and founder of Felice Paintworks. My journey into art was anything but conventional. I started with a Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene & Therapy in 2010, moved to Australia, and later settled in Tamahere, Hamilton, with my husband and two children.
After experiencing postnatal depression, I discovered the quote:
"The opposite of depression isn't joy, it's expression."
This resonated deeply. Creativity became my sanctuary, my way of processing and healing. In 2023, I completed a Diploma in Interior Design to renovate my home and struggled to find affordable, large-scale artwork, so I decided to create my own.
Creative rhythms explored
Each piece I create mirrors the rhythmic dance of nature, using acrylics, pigments, and inks to capture organic patterns that enchant the eye.
Depth in neutral tones
The neutral tones I use create an atmosphere of calm elegance, adding depth and a grounded quality to each artwork, resonating with collectors.
Subtle metallic accents
Metallic paints add a gentle shimmer to my artworks, akin to the mineral veining found in nature, offering an added layer of fascination.
