The story behind the canvas
Inspiration often arrives quietly- like a breeze over stone, or light dancing across still water. This piece was born from that quiet place. I wasn't searching for anything specific when asked to do a large commission inspired by the ocean. There are many beach scene artworks out there that are so stunning, but I needed mine to be different. So I let the paint move with intention and instinct, mimicking the way nature carves, softens and reshapes what it touches over time.
The palette was drawn from the ocean- mossy green, deep mineral blues, and muted tones of sand and stone. They echo ancient rock faces and ocean depths. I'm always fascinated by the contradiction in these textures; soft yet strong, chaotic yet graceful, fleeting yet eternal. From this thought arose the name - Erosion & Grace.
